Obama Explains Why He’s the Best Candidate for LGBT Americans
When the Obama campaign announced that Donnie McClurkin would be among the featured singers on the presidential candidate’s gospel tour in South Carolina this weekend, it inadvertently ventured into the void between African-American Christians and gays and lesbians.
McClurkin, an award-winning gospel singer who has also struggled with his sexuality for years, is a one-man personification of the craggy crossroads between black gays and Christians. The fact that he has called homosexuality a “curse” that runs against “the intention of God” rips open the wounds of so many gay African-Americans who have been “prayed over” for years by family and friends who endeavor to save them from their “shameful” fate.

MOE RELATIONSHIPS v2
The RING: Heavy Weight Champ!
This is a title I believe we as MOE men fight for. Even the simplest misunderstanding turns into a full HBO Boxing Brawl. Not just words are exchanged; hurt and pain is also. At the end when we’re fully drained and now ready for that “make-up fuck” do we ever ask was it worth it.
Every couple has arguments. We would be fools to believe that there’s a perfect couple who doesn’t. Question is: Which battles do we choose to “fight” on? When is a “fight” necessary? Instead of fights there should be more debates. Debating allows you to stay focused on the actual issues and the facts surrounding it. Through debates equally satisfying solutions appear faster. Fights are fueled by anger and emotions that blind you of the issues at the moment. Also you will refuse to see the other person’s side. You wait for the micro-second when your partner stops speaking to jump in and go-off (as we do so well). However instead of the issue, we pull out the guns and hit below the belt; attacking everything but the issue.

Book Review- Looker: A Novel
Looker: A Novel (Atria Books)
Stanley Bennett Clay (Author)
“The black gay culture is such a marvelously fascinating thing. It can’t be captured in one book; not in a hundred books. I could write books for the rest of my life and would only scratch the surface with regards to the intricacies of who we are as black gay people,” well spoken in a recent interview by Stanley Bennett Clay, the author of such books as In Search of Pretty Young Black Men and his most recent Looker: A Novel. Clay, as we all should, acknowledges that Black Gay men run the spectrum of socioeconomic levels and class in American society, and he refuses to cater to stereotypes, but instead pursues honesty and therefore shows the complexities of our beauty.
